Samuel's Surgery

I'm not sure why, but Ben was looking up childhood sleep apnea a couple of months ago.  A lot of the way that it manifests in children were things that we see in Samuel: short stature, snoring, bed-wetting (which he doesn't do, but did until his 7th birthday), and a hard time focusing.  After a Dr's appt, an x-ray, allergy meds, blood work, Dr's appt, and specialist appt, we were told his adenoids should come out.  The pediatrician and ENT were surprised because in 90-95% of cases both the tonsils and adenoids are enlarged.  In Samuel it was just the adenoids.  The recovery for an adenoidectomy is much easier than for a tonsillectomy.  After the surgery the ENT told us that his adenoids were huge.  He had surgery on Thursday and was out at the pool yesterday for almost 4 hours.  He seems to be fine.

Next up: Henry.  We are going to have him checked too.
