Pictures

This past Monday we went to a friends house so she could take pictures of William. She loves to take pictures and had volunteered to take pictures of people in the ward. She loves babies with hair, so we got bumped to the top of the list. Here are some of the results.

Flowers

Most of the bulbs that my mother-in-law planted last fall have come up. We are still waiting on plain red tulips to match the red and white ones. In the background you can see some of the 6 azalea bushes I planted last week. The rose bushes my mother-in-law planted in the backyard are coming along just fine also. I love colorful plants.

Henry---again

Latest health update. Today I got the dreaded "your son threw up at school" call. Good grief. This kid went through pre-k, Kindergarten, and 1st grade without missing one day. This year--8.5 so far, and a half today and they don't want him back tomorrow either.

The "magic" bear outfit

This outfit was given to us by our neighbor. Not only is it adorable, it must have magic powers, because he sleeps forever when it is on him. Too bad he spits up so much, or we would just leave it on him all of the time.

Pirates Game

Last Wednesday night was opening night for the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was "Buc Night." The tickets, popcorn, soda, and hotdogs were all $1 each. I spent the first four innings in line for food with Sadie. Then I spent 1 1/2 innings eating and then I got too cold (it was 47 degrees and drizzling) and went and sat in the car with Sadie. Ben and the boys lasted until the 7th inning. It was fun though and I think the kids had fun.
The first picture is the results of the Pierogie race. That's right four men dressed as pierogies raced around the outfield. Gotta love Pittsburgh.

The friday before Easter, Henry went to a "bumper cars on ice" birthday party. It was FREEZING...but looked like a lot of fun.

William's Blessing

Easter Sunday was also William's blessing. We are grateful for this church and the opportunity it gives us to be an eternal family.

Other activities with Grandma Gillis

Grandma Gillis left yesterday (unfortunately), but I still have a few things to write about that were done when she was here.

First: the kids made rice crispy "houses" and decorated them.

I am getting so spoiled. What am I going to do come Monday when I no longer have any helpers here. It's been a month and the life of luxury is coming to an end. Yesterday Grandma Gillis took the kids to the Zoo. I'm not sure that there were any animals seen, but they sure had fun at the playgrounds.

The Aviary

Grandma Gillis is here helping out. She has been very helpful doing laundry and cooking meals and doing the dreaded work of planting in the yard...ugh. The best thing though, is that she does stuff with the older kids. Yesterday they went to the Aviary. This was great because it left William and I at home alone--I got a ton done. Also, I don't like zoo's or aviary's, so the kids got to go, and I didn't have to take them--Yipee!!

"He loves me"

Sadie can't get enough of William. She wants to hold him all of the time. She rejoices in saying "he loves me."

Henry

Just in case anyone is keeping track: In the last three weeks Henry has been on antibiotics 3 times and an inhaler once. (One of the antibiotics he was only on for 4 days and then they switched him to another.) He has had an ear infection, and then pneumonia, and now strep. We have been to the doctor 4 times and between medicine and doctors appointments would have had to pay $396.00. Of course this is nothing compared to the $14,520 we would have had to pay to have William. I certainly feel for all of the people who don't have decent (or any) medical coverage.
