Busy, busy,busy

This year we really figured out what parenting is: baseball season.  We have both Henry and Samuel in baseball this year.  It's been fun to watch them learn the skills and improve.  However, all of that improving takes time.  We are at the ballpark 4 times a week.

So, that fills up my evenings (Henry still has cubscouts as well).  What do I do during the day?  Same old, same old.  However, on top of laundry, cleaning, feeding the masses, etc.  I am also feverishly painting.  I have finished: the laundry room, game room, boys room, pool bathroom, Sadie's room and guest bathroom.  Now, they are painted-not finished completely.  I still have chair rail in Sadie's room, and the two bathrooms.  I also have to replace some baseboard in the pool bath.  I am currently working on the master bed/bath area.  The goal is to have the entire house painted by summer break.  It's good to have goals-right?

NO, NO, NO-I'm not ready for this

A couple of days ago Samuel told me that there was a girl in his reading class that he liked.  A little while later he asked if he could ask her to the house.  I told him that would be fine.  Later that evening we were looking for baseball jersey's and the dirty clothes bucket in their room got dumped on the floor.   After we got home from baseball Henry was brushing his teeth and Samuel was in their room changing.  When I went in to tuck them in bed I noticed that all of the clothes had been picked up.  He told me that it was because he needed to pick up before this girl came over.

Today he asked if it was ok to have a girlfriend, but no kissing.  Oh man...

Henry's Epiphany

Yesterday I was driving Henry somewhere.  Right now I can't imagine where I was driving him without the rest of the gang, but, anyway.  He told me that he realized the other day that music changes how you feel.  You know "rock music could make you feel rebellious."  True words my son.  Good for you for realizing it!
