I am Me

I am me and I am more than a wife and mother.  Today as I was cleaning  I got to thinking: Ya know, I have an identity that goes beyond my family and my house.

I am fun, ethical, impatient, lazy, happy, working on being more patient.

I like to read (mysteries, historical novesl, and light romances-no shirt ripping hunks on the front), going on road trips, eating chocolate, being organized, lending a hand, sleeping late, making new recipes, trying new "experiences," learning new things, watching TV,Doris Day movies, building things, eating mexican food, going to the library, DisneyWorld, the beach, sewing, my curly hair.

I don't like yard work, cleaning, open cabinet doors, sleeping with the closet door open, clutter, being late (it makes me sick to my stomach), seafood, folding laundry, committing to things, making the bed,

I have a strict moral code, a messy car, short attention span, Bachelor's degree.

At least once a day I think some version of "What would I do if I had a million dollars, unlimited money, etc."

I don't care what people think about my financial position, or my belongings.  I do care that people think I am a good person that makes good choices.

I have yet to find something that I am passionate enough about to stick to it (other than my family.)

This is in no way a complaint about my life.  I am very happy to be a wife and a mother.  Every once in a while it's nice to remember that I am other things as well.

You should have written this sooner...I think I just learned like 9 new things about you! I know what you mean, sometimes I feel like even my "spare time" is spent doing mom or wife sorts of things and I need to be better at carving out time for other things.

I love you, Sarahpaine. You should add to your list that you sing an awesome one-woman "duet." :)

I think that you are pretty amazing. I need to do a list for myself. I am going to reread this list before I visit you...because I LIKE to fold laundry!
