Henry's room

After moving Ben into his own office we decided to move Henry into the toy room.

Here is the progression:

Thank goodness for the 3 women from church who came over to help me paint from baby poop yellow to awesome navy blue.

Ice Cream Bench

Samuel has been begging me for one of these: Ice Cream Sandwich Benches forever.  It fell really low on the priority list.  However, now that we have put the 2 older boys in separate rooms, I am trying to help them get organized.  Samuel is a bit of a hoarder.  One day he freaked out because I threw away his broken bicycle seat.  After Henry moved out he really cut back on his stuff, so I made him this as a reward.

Family Room

Before:
I made this unit in Pittsburgh and it was perfect for the basement.  I wasn't loving it in the main part of our house though.

Thanks Dad for helping get to this:

After:

Dad got the 2 shelves on either side cut to the right height (we got them at Ikea).  Then he mounted them to the wall.

I put in the center unit, the shelf for the electronics, painted everything, trimmed it out, and stained and varnished the wood.  It's not all "prettified," but the basic idea is done.

Happy Birthday William #3

We love you!

Pinewood Derby & Blue and Gold Banquet

One of those blurs is Samuel's car

Winning 1st place for Wolves

This year was Samuel's first Pinewood Derby.  He was very sure what he wanted his car to look like.  I guess it paid off since he came 1st for Wolves and 5th overall for the whole stake.  My heart stopped at the beginning of the race when it jumped the track twice.  However, they wiggled the track a bit, said a prayer (just kidding) and it was smooth sailing.

Henry finally getting to "cross over" to Boy Scouts.  His birthday is in December and this was at the end of February.

How did I end up at the kid's table?
