Samuel turns 8!

This past Wednesday was a big day: last day of school, Samuel's birthday, and Samuel's first day of Cub scouts!  He was so excited.  Ben had gotten the day off of work, so when the kids got home, we headed to Downtown Disney so that Samuel could pick out his presents.  He chose two Lego sets, and a remote control car.  He also wanted to eat at a chicken restaurant near the Lego store.  He sees it every time we are there, and begs to eat there.  Finally, his dream came true!

Really????

Note to self: Don't ever park too close to someone in a CVS parking lot.  They are liable to go ballistic about the scratch they think you put in their rental car.

I try really hard to be honest and take responsibility for my actions.  However, I will not be trod upon.  Nor can you yell at me in the CVS parking lot and accuse me of something I know I didn't do.  If you try to do this-I will call the police.

Okay, so I parked too close to a car, I admit that.  I even tapped the side view mirror with my door when I got out of my car.  However, I got out of the car, reopened it gently, to see where it had hit, and checked to see if I did any damage.  I did not.

When I got back in the car I opened the slider on that side, climbed in, put William in his car seat, and climbed through the car to my seat.

As I backed out of the spot, the owner (or renter) of this vehicle, walked around the car, looked at it and started yelling at me to come back.  I rolled down my window and told her I hadn't scratched her car.  It started to get heated, so I parked, called the cops and waited.  After the police got there, she didn't even talk to them, or really listen to what I was telling them.  However, after telling the police that the crazy lady thought I hit her car, he looked at me, my car, and her car and wrote up an incident.  He also looked like he couldn't believe that this was happening-join the club mister!  The whole time I kept thinking, "really, it's not even your car, it's a rental, from Budget!!!!  They are not going to care."

I guess I was right.  I never heard from Budget.

Savannah, GA

The Monday after Easter Ben had a job interview in Savannah (which didn't pan out.)  In true "it takes a village" style, I had a ton of people help me with the kids so that I could go with Ben.  One fed the kids dinner, stayed the night, and got them up for school.  Another took them to school.  Someone else watched William most of the day.  Then, the big kids walked home from school, where they were then picked up by a 4th person picked them up.  After a couple of hours there, they went to yet another house, where William was also dropped off.  I was gone for about 28 hours and it took 5 people to cover my 4 kids.  It worked out great, and everyone that I asked to help was so nice about it.  I have never done anything like that before.  We have been fortunate enough to have family fly out to help when we have gone out of town.  Here are a few pictures of how I spent my day, while Ben was interviewing.

Really? I never posted about Easter?

Ben's mom was in town the week before Easter.  The kids had so much fun coloring eggs with her and Ben.  Unfortunately, I have no pictures of the dying.  However, here are some of the hunt.

Ben's Job

No update.  Ben has been looking for a job since last November.  Thankfully he has remained employed at his current job the whole time.  It has been a long and somewhat odd journey, which we are still on.  Lately  I have become convinced that there is definitely something that we are supposed to figure out.  It's seems like we just haven't found the right path yet.  We shall see.  Hopefully we will get to stay here in FL, but who knows?
